Battlefield 1918, also known as Bf1918, is a modification (also called short mod) on the game Battlefield 1942. This means that many game elements of the original game in return, but including the levels, weapons, vehicles, uniforms are tailored to the theme of the mod, in this case the First World War. A mod is created by a group of fans who often have no ties to the makers of the original game. In this case the mod created by a group of German enthusiasts who are also responsible for a WWI mod for Command & Conquer Generals. Mods are distributed free on the Internet, but to make them work is the basic game (Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield 2) required.
The various maps, historical battles played between the Entente and Central Powers. There is much attention paid to all objects in the game to keep authentic. One example is shooting a Lee Enfield, there is a Jam tin grenades thrown and can famous aircraft as the Fokker Dr.I as the German zeppelins and L 30 are flown. Also original tanks and trucks in the game stopped as the British Mark IV and the French Renault FT-17.
