Hi and thanks for downloading this map. This is my third BF2 map. It is based upon and
is a sort of remake of the BF1942 map, Stalingrad.

Description

This map is a remake of the BF1942 map Stalingrad. It has been remade by me for BF2, so it has some differences to fit in with the BF2 game, but its basic structure is similar to the original map. The story line below is to try and explain how USMC and MEC forces are fighting in Russia :) .

In 2007 WW3 broke out, with MEC and PLA force combining to attack areas in Africa, Asia, Russia and Europe. Russia was easily defeated and the MEC took control of western Russia and then pushed into Europe. After finally recovering from the intial suprise, NATO forces, including USMC troops, have counter-attacked in Europe and pushed the MEC troops well back into Russia. But now the offensive has slowed down and they must try and cross the mighty Volga river. USMC troops have been ordered to capture the city of Volgograd, once named Stalingrad, to secure a way across the river and to regain momentum. MEC forces have been told to hold the city so a new offensive can be mounted from it. Once again, as it did in WW2, the city plays host to a battle that could very well decide the outcome of the entire war.

Notes

-The map has been entirely made by me. I created the heightmaps and object set up using the original map as a basis and modified as I saw fit to make it a BF2 map. I have also tried to match the gameplay of the original by keeping the vehicles to a minimum.

-This map will only work in multiplayer mod as the AI tools are not released.

-Warning: The 64 player version of this map will be pretty crowded as this is and was a small map.
