Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 playable at GAMEfest in September

UK retailer GAME is hosting GAMEfest this September in the UK which is a consumer show based in Birmingham. The public can get their hands on EA titles.

Among the line-up is FIFA 12, Need for Speed: The Run, Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3. GAMEfest boasts fans can play the "most anticipated titles".

Sledgehammer boss Glen Schofield, co-developer of Modern Warfare 3, has had a sly dig at Battlefield 3 and its studio DICE. Dismisses Frostbite tech talk.

The former EA dev says you can call your game engine "whatever you want," but it's a "trick." Modern Warfare 3 runs at 60 FPS on consoles, he boasts.

Some tasty new multiplayer news has been revealed about Battlefield 3. The game will feature a dedicated multiplayer two player co-operative mode that is supported by ten maps.

Battlefield 3 senior gameplay designer Alan Kertz was asked if the game will include any animations for entering and exiting vehicles in multiplayer. Kertz's answer: no.
