Creative director Lars Gustavsson has said he "would love" to revisit the Bad Company spin-off to Battlefield again, adding that Bad Company gave them some real "creative freedom" to play with.

DICE is notably busy right now with Battlefield 4, Mirror's Edge 2 and the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront. Gustavsson assures fans Bad Company "isn't forgotten," and that "they're coming back."

Organisers for the GDC next year have confirmed Swedish studio DICE will be holding a session for Battlefield 3 and it's "technical implementation" of art.

That means fancy engineering talk and pictures of "deferred rendering, HDR" and other stuff. Also on the books is Gears of War 3 and Final Fantasy.

EA has announced the release dates for the first expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Vietnam will be landing on December 18th for PC users, and December 21st for the console crowd.

EA has announced Battlefield Play4Free today, a brand new PC game in the series that's completely free but supported by optional microtransactions.

It's a "deep PC shooter" says EA that's got Battlefield's "signature" vehicle warfare and sandbox gameplay; it supports 32-players. Beta sign-ups live.
