Activision and EA square off in court this May, a $400m lawsuit

The bitter and long running legal jabs between Activision and EA will really start this May as California Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle gives the green light.

Activision is to proceed with a 'contract interference' lawsuit against EA worth $400 million. The judge said sufficient facts exist to permit a full court hearing.

In a shocking twist it apparently costs money to make money even with a lawsuit against a multi-million dollar company. Activision is playing it 'smart'.

The publisher wants to wear down Jason West and Vince Zampella in their suit by attempting to delay the start of the trial, bleeding them dry.

Eric Hirshberg, Activision CEO, proclaims that despite Jason West and Vince Zampella being forced from Infinity Ward there's plenty of talent left behind.

That's even after the mass exodus of staff. Even patients fresh from a coma, unaware of their troubles, would know they're the "real deal" meeting them.

Call of Duty subscription rumour debunked

You won't need to pay a subscription to play the Call of Duty series online in the near future, as two of the main developers behind the franchise have debunked the rumours on Twitter.

Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling tweeted the following last night: "For the record, nobody has to pay to play COD or MW2 multiplayer, nor will they."

It's official pronounces Elite creator David Braben, that the Infinity Ward we grew to love for Call of Duty "is dead." it's set to be "different" from now on.

Braben blasts Acti for appearing "not to value" their own teams, or understanding 'what they care about'. Studios "a lot more" than just tools and tech.
