John Gibson, president of Tripwire Interactive, has some stark views on Activision's Call of Duty franchise. The Red Orchestra 2 developer feels they have "almost ruined a generation of FPS players."

Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward has released a shot of a Xi3 micro PC that's partially funded by Valve, and which was unveiled back in January at CES. IW posted the image on Facebook and Twitter.
The studio didn't elaborate much beyond the images, other than asking 'what's this?' via Twitter and writing 'game development' on Facebook. Xi3 is powered by Steam software.

EA Sports' FIFA franchise first to pass £1bn in UK retail market

It has been announced through Chart-Track that the FIFA franchise is the first video game series to collectively attain £1bn at UK retail. It did so spread across 40 released FIFA titles.
FIFA 12 and FIFA 13 alone contributed around £200m to the staggering figure. The second and third top video game grossing properties are Call of Duty and Mario respectively.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 US launch sales '14% less' than Modern Warfare 3

Activision recently tooted their sales horn for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 after it secured a cool $1bn in just 15 days. However according to NPD data for US retail, it sold less than Modern Warfare 3.
Combined Xbox 360 and PS3 sales puts Modern Warfare 3 at 8.8 million copies sold during its launch month, while Black Ops 2 managed just 7.4 million. This is the blockbuster series' first decline.
