Based on real events:
On Oct 8, 1944 at a place called Crucifix Hill in Aachen Germany the 1st Infantry Division along with the
Ranger Platoon of the 1st Battalion, attacked Crucifix Hill, a major defense hold for the German enemy.
The objective of the battle was to gain control of the hill, which was laced with a maze of pillboxes and bunkers,
so that the main objective of encircling Aachen could be completed. Hill 239, a.k.a. Crucifix Hill, was held by
units of the German 246th Volksgrenadier Division.
