File Instructions:: The Road Home V2

1. Description:

This is a 2v2 skirmish or multiplayer map formulated from the actual USGS Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of my home (Player 1) and the surrounding area. Other than "wartime" additions, this map is almost an exact replica of my home, which is located on a large, rural hill top overlooking a very rural valley in Northern Alabama. I have pretty much worked out all of the bugs, but if you find more that needs to be addressed, please feel free to email me. Any comments, criticisms and suggestions are always welcomed, especially considering that this is my first COH map.

Instructions for .sgb use:

Step 1. -Unzip all the files into "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WWII\Data\Scenarios\mp\"

(if you don't already have a "mp" folder in your "...\WWII\Data\Scenarios\" folder, make one!)

In Windows 7, you may want to do the installation to:

C:\Users\your computer name\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\Data\Scenarios\mp\

as for whatever reason, Windows 7 has duplicate folders in both locations, though the first one doesn't have the "mp" folder, which can be created as noted, but I'm not sure if it will work there or why there is even duplicate locations in the first place. Having Windows 7 myself, I personally utilize the second address and have never had to install anything into the first.

Step 2. Create a shortcut to "Company of Heroes.exe" if you don't have one.

-Right-click on the "Company of Heroes.exe" shortcut and add " -dev" to the end of the target.

(make sure you have a space before the -dev and that it is not in the quotation marks)

Instructions for .sga use:

1. For Windows 7 -Unzip the .SGA file into:

C:\Users\your computer name\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\scenarios

For regular Windows:

-Unzip the .SGA file into:

"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WWII\Data\Scenarios

and disregard "Step 2" of the SGB installation instructions as allegedly, changing your target isn't required to play the SGA.

Note:

Once again, if the "scenarios" folder doesn't exist, just create it and once again, these instructions are only for installations utilizing the default intallation details of COH, but if you have your COH installed elsewhere, you will have to install accordingly and I recommend using the .SGB and its files instead to have the full experience, as they say that by only intalling the .SGA, one loses things in the map such as the atmospheric properties. Heck, I'm not here to give a tutorial, if you have problems with installation, their are many tutorials out there in which you can reference.

woah this map is HUGE! Its a little hard playing 2 vs 2. There also seems to be like gray roads or lines that pop up every once in a while. other than that its great.
