Ok first of all, I hope this review is reasonable and unbiased in contrast from just about all the other reviews on this game so far. I would like to present people with the facts, and do so in at least half decent English, again in contrast to so many other reviews out there. It is my belief that this game is especially intended for people who do not yet have Company of Heroes. If you do not own CoH, you get the following :
-All four available factions. Panzer Elite, Wehrmacht, British, Americans
-All available game modes, and therefore all maps
-All available units
- 3 single player Campaigns with 3 missions each
If you have not purchased a CoH game yet, this is by far the best choice. The only thing you miss out on are the other two game's campaigns. If you have purchased the other CoH games, it may be best to skip over this one for the following reasons.
-The 3 new game modes only come with one map each
-Only two new units per faction, no new factions
-Very short campaigns
If you have 1 CoH game thats not Tales of Valor, you are somewhere in between the previous two categories, but it would be advised to get Tales of Valor over the other CoH option, but even this is questionable as ToV is $30.00
In conclusion, I believe relic released this game for people just getting into CoH. It has little to offer veteran players who have already own original CoH and Opposing Fronts. Relic may have said ToV was to appease both crowds, but it really is a lot of money for someone who already owns the others. I believe the established CoH community wanted, and deserved, new factions and longer more epic campaigns. Would it have been to far of a stretch to add Russians, and say, another axis power? This is the question the community was wanting answered favorably in the form of some truly unique and engaging aspects to a fantastic game. Instead they were given something of a push over and marketing ploy as a new game to the series.
