Counter-Strike: Global Offensive HQ (PC)
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago. CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

|CS:GO's Winter Offensive update went live yesterday, giving players the chance to exchange gifts, as well as try out two new maps.
Cobblestone is a remake of the original CS classic map, while Overpass is a brand spanking new one. Both are currently only available offline and through official matchmaking in Operation Bravo. Valve want the new maps to be "as fun and balanced as possible" before they release them fully.

|Operation Bravo is introducing a community map event back in rotation for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Eight maps are included as part of the scheme.
There are also 15 map-themed skins for weapons, which periodically drop during matches. Casual, deathmatch and competitive modes are all available via Operation Bravo.

|Valve to reveal next week the studio's plans for Linu... (3)|
|Gabe Newell during his presentation at LinuxCon in New Orleans has said Valve will be unveiling their plans for Linux-based hardware soon, as the studio boss cried Linux was the "future of gaming".
Next week they'll discuss their open source platform based on the OS, promising that "none of the proprietary closed platforms" will come close to their dreams.
