Player-made maps for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive get another month in the spotlight as Valve extends their 'Operation Payback' event until August 31st. Over $150k has been paid to creators.

The idea behind the scheme is to draw attention to top rated community maps and help their creators earn some scratch for the trouble. Operation Payback includes 7 maps for $5.99.

Valve has announced at the Counter-Strike blog that there will be a new anti-cheating measure for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive called Overwatch, which will allow players on a server to police the server themselves.

Valve has patched in Deathmatch to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, reveals the latest changelog. The tried and true multiplayer mode is available offline and through matchmaking.

Weapon balancing and recoil has also been adjusted thanks to "pro community input", with accompanies "global changes that affect all weapons" and types. Minor changes include performance tweaks.
