- About:
Triptych is an artistic experiment in story telling set in the Lovecraftian horror genre, written and developed by C-zom. With a focus on imagery and atmosphere, the story itself only loosely describes--in reverse chronology--the death of a man named Jeremiah Stone. The first chapter explores the emotions of sadness and loneliness, and explains how he dies. The second chapter settles on revenge, with a foreboding vibe and grim story telling narrative. The final chapter explains why he was cursed and killed from his actions half a century ago, and absolute horror and fear are explored.
Triptych: Decessus takes place in the frozen Yuletide season in a European village, with an elderly man named Jeremiah Stone fleeing from his home in fright of an amorphous creature; a rolling flute player that has been haunting him for decades. He comes to terms with his fate, and must face what he fears. Release Date: February 1st, 2012
Triptych: Damnata takes place decades earlier in the arid deserts of Iran, with another unknown man seeking refuge from an enormous sandstorm among the cluttered ruins of an old city. He goes deeper and deeper into the catacombs, unraveling cosmic horrors that linger within the black vaults between the stars and uses it to curse a man, but why. Release Date: April 1st, 2012
Triptych: Mendacium is the final chapter, with two men being lost in a titanic and frightening forest fool of ghouls, graveyards, fog, dark secrets and arcane towns. Something happens between the two men here, and it is fully explained why the curse was dropped on one of them--completing the Triptych. Release Date: June 1st, 2012
II
Triptych is written by C-zom, the writer of The Worry of Newport. A higher focus has been given on brevity and subtle detail in Triptych, rather than verbose dialog and writing. Each Chapter promises to broadcast a "key" atmosphere. Sadness, revenge, and fear respectively. Imagery and experimental narratives are the focus, rather than conventional story telling.
