Crytek rebukes 'unlawful' layoff claims, "had phases of crunch"

Someone isn't happy with Crysis developer Crytek and an allegation heavy blog cites 'unlawful' dismissals, heavy crunch times and employee lawsuits.

Crytek has responded and plainly cried "bullsh*t" that their relocation to a new Frankfurt office would cause about 70 redundancies. It's got "more desks" not less.

The CryEngine tech is "a very moddable thing," which also works against a safe online experience. On PC there are "lots of hooks" exposed.

These leave it "open to hacking if you're not careful." They've had to go through PC Crysis 2 with a "fine tooth comb" and "close all these doors" tight.

Microsoft almost acquired Crytek in 2003 when they were scouting for "militaristic first person shooter" developers to complement the Halo franchise. At the time, Crytek was laying the groundwork for Crysis.

The original Crysis may be making it onto Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as an ESRB listing has popped up listing both consoles for it - being listed on ESRB is a mortal lock, since publishers have to spend a pretty penny to get games evaluated and rated by them.

Crytek head Cevat Yerli confirms the studio is happy to jump at a third full instalment to the Crysis franchise, though he swears this is 'no formal announcement'.

There "is a plan" already in place for how the fiction of Crysis "should roll out," but a trilogy must wait on Crysis 2's performance, which is due end of March.
