- A post-WW2 world with a victorious Germany:
The link below includes the scenario file I have been working on. It should work on an unmodified 1.2 version of Darkest Hour. It's an adapted version of the 1942 scenario. OOBs, Cabinets etc. Have not been changed and I'd like to wait until 1.3 comes out. The map as I personally envision it is there, however. In the attachments I have added the event files (all in test phase) as well as planned events. So all credit goes to the original game designers for this!
At the moment the mod is still in development stage.
Compatibility:
- Darkest Hour Full 1.2 version, unmodified.
- Works as a scenario of DH Full, for now, so installation instructions.
Installation instructions:
- Download the winrar file (download link below)
- Add the map "Fatherland" and the file "fatherland.eug" to the "scenarios" directory of Darkest Hour Full.
- Add the "mods.csv." file to the "config" directory of Darkest Hour Full and overwrite it (don't forget to backup your original file!).
Alternative Installation instructions:
- If you do not wish to overwrite this file then do the following:
- Download the winrar file (download link below)
- Copy a clean install and unmodified version of Darkest Hour Full and rename it "Fatherland".
- Add the map "Fatherland" and the file "fatherland.eug" to the "scenarios" to this new directory.
- Add the "mods.csv." file to the "config" sub-directory of this new directory and overwrite it.
Mod recruitment:
Anyone willing to contribute events and ideas is more than welcome! Proper credits will be given of course!
Things to help with
- A final map of post-WW2 Asia
- OOBs of all countries
- Cabinets and general improvement of the .inc files
- Hungarian-Romanian war suggestions and events
- Internal strife events for Germany
- Any other events for a post-WW2 world with Germany victorious
Allies:
United Kingdom, fortress of democracy.
Iceland, ???.
Axis:
-"Luxembourg", no longer exists as a nation, fully integrated core province of Germany.
-Belgium, now part of the Reichskommisariat Belgium-North France. This is an interesting puppet as many choices exists for its future. It can remain under civil occupation administration, it can be split up in puppets (Flanders/Walloon/Brussels), (parts) can join a Greater Netherlands should Germany wish. It can also be put under direct German military control immediately (but without getting cores) if war breaks out with the UK or whenever the German player wishes. (Parts) can be fully integrated into Germany over the years, the province of Eupen already is. As long as the Lille area is part of this Reichskommisariat the chance of France joining the Axis is very low.
-Netherlands, now part of the Reichskommisariat Netherlands. It can be integrated into Germany over the years. It can become a Dutch puppet, even gaining provinces from Belgium. Alternatively the Germans can integrate some parts and grant the rest autonomy. It can also be put under direct military control immediately but with no chance of becoming a core province.
-Denmark, Social Conservative democracy (but with notable restricitons), German puppet but not formerly in the Axis alliance. Only controls Copenhagen and Odense. The King is still in control. Domestic policies of Denmark (and German influence) will determine its future. It can remain a German protectorate, it can have a pro-Allies revolt or (slim chance) a Nazi coup which will make it easy for Germany to integrate the last bit of a more or less free Denmark.
-Norway, now part of the Reichskommisariat Norway. Similar option exist to the other Reichskommisariate. Integration, local autonomy, military administration. I believe control over Norway should affect a future nuclear program.
-Finland, Social Conservative, a formal ally of Germany. Greater Finland has been achieved. Has its eyes on Leningrad. It still borders the Soviet Union in the North which might be the only reason for Finland to maintain its alliance with Germany.
-Slovenia, doesn't exist, perhaps it should as an Italian puppet?
-Croatia incl. Bosnia, Fascist, Italo-German puppet.
-Montenegro, Fascist, Italian puppet, partisans stil active.
-Serbia, great chunks are under Hungarian, Italian and Bulgarian control. Germany officially occupies Serbia proper but most of the occupation soldiers are Bulgarians. The Banat is controlled by Germany as well and could be integrated one day.
-Bulgaria, Paternal Autocrat, German ally but not with much passion.
-Slovakia, Fascist, German puppet, quite irrelevant. Should Germany join Romania in the scenario above, Slovakia could regain south Slovakia?
-Ostland, Estonia/Latvia, National Socialist, Reichskommeseriat. Expected to be integrated over the years just like the United Baltic Duchy in Kaiserreich. Could also become puppets. Finland has political interests in Estonia. Also includes parts of Western Russia.
-General Government & Eastern Galicia, National Socialist, similar to a Reichskommeseriat. Infested with Polish partisans. Integration into Germany possible at a price. Ukrainian nationalists wouldn't mind some autonomy in Galicia.
-Lithuania, Fascist, German puppet. May also be integrated but this will cease the current state of collaboration.
-Belarus, Fascist, Ostland/German puppet. Filled with partisans and dissent and under a weak pro-Axis government. Expect only trouble from these forests and swamps. A logistical disaster for troops stationed further East.
-Ukraine, now part of Reichskommisariat Ukraine. Includes only Western Ukraine. Odessa region in Romanian hands, Eastern Romania under military control. Crimea under different control. Some parts of it may be integrated, local policy will affect dissent and partisans. The capital is Rivne, not Kiev.
-Crimea, functions similarily to a Reichskommisariate, one of the most likely places for Eastern settlement. The reason it is not part of the Ukraine is due to a leadership dispute. Local Tatars and other minorities may be appeased. Also controls some provinces north of the Crimea.
-Reichskommisariat Caucasus, National Socialist, famous for its mountains many ethnic groups and precious Baku oil. Probably wont be integrated any time soon. So it might be better to split it up in puppets (would also improve local recruitment) while keeping control of the Baku oil. Maybe some deal with Turkey?.
-Southern Russia, under military control but as a puppet (tag is AXI), this area is demanded by Ukraine Reichskommisariat leader Erich Koch to be put under his civilian control. The Wehrmacht absolutely rejects these demands.
-North and West Russia up to the Volga river, under direct German army control, filled with partisans. Not likely to be integrated any time soon. The German player can put the area under civilian control or even create a nominally independent Russia ruled by Vlassov. This will decrease partisans and dissent but what kind of Nazi wants an independent Russia? Also, the IC of Moscow will probably be blown up.
-Lokot Republic, National Socialist, a largely failed Russian puppet state under a corrupt and hated leadership.
-Italy, Fascist, German ally but doesn't like being nr. 2 in the world of dictators.
-Hungary & Romania, Fascists. They are likely to go to war over the future of Transylvania. Germany will have to choose between them to get one of them back in the Axis, or remain neutral and lose both.
Neutral Dictatorships:
-Portugal, Paternal Autocrat, Neutral. Ideologically pro-Axis, strategically more pro-Allies.
-Spain, Paternal Autocrat/Fascist, Neutral. Worse relations with Axis over refusal to join them, but also pretty bad relations with the Allies.
-France, Paternal Autocrat, Neutral. Italy occupies a chunk of the south-east, Germany occupies the extreme North, the Atlantic coast, Longwy and Nancy. France is in an akward position. Ideologically closer to the Axis, but Vichy is reluctant to join the Axis as long as they cannot get a fair share out of it. Politically very unstable with many people supporting Gaullists and Communists. But also some more hardline Nazis around.
-Cossackia, Fascist, largely pro-Axis but Alliance status unclear due to inner-Cossack disputes. Controls much of Southern Russia all the way to the northern Caucasus.
Neutral democracies:
-Turkey, Neutral. Could perhaps be persuaded to a more Fascist line by Germany.
-Sweden, Social Democrat, low chance of joining the Axis at this point, but economically close to Germany. Sweden can easily be conquered by the Axis but this will probably lead to a greater war. As long as Sweden is independent partisans in Norway can do greater damage.
-Switzerland, Social Conservative, independence guaranteed by the UK. Economically dependent on Germany and Italy. Although it does have a neutral border with France.
-Ireland, quite a boring country in this game I suppose? The Abwehr may try some funny adventures here.
