Sony Online Entertainment has announced the seventh DLC pack for DC Universe Online, called "Origin Crisis", which brings a host of what-if scenarios? (What if Batman's parents were never killed or Superman teamed up with Lex Luthor?) and a brand-new power set, Quantum.

Continent-wide conquest never looked so good and Sony Online is chuffed with their 'ForgeLight' that powers free-to-play MMO PlanetSide 2. It's so good that they'll use it for all MMOs going forward.

It's robust enough to stay looking pretty while there's 2,000 on a server with 200 on the screen, which you "just can't do" with other MMOs and achieve 60 FPS. The engine can scale easily.

Update 19 for DC Universe Online is set to put a twist on the game. Known as The Witching Hour, the DLC will provide the title with a Halloween-inspired makeover.
