Modder recreating Diablo 2 in Divinity: Original Sin

A plucky Divinity: Original Sin modder is attempting to recreate the first area of Diablo 2 in Larian's recently released fantasy RPG.

Specifically, forum user Shidiwen is recreating the gloomy hub town of Sanctuary, home of mud, rain, skeletons and weird little imp creatures.

Larian Studios' Kickstarter-funded fantasy RPG seems to be off to a pretty good start. Talking to Eurogamer, Larian boss Swen Vincke said "It's definitely the fastest-selling game we've ever published. The last figures I saw we were at 160,000. For us that's pretty good."

Even better news for Larian is that it's still early days so far. The game launched on Monday June 30 after a lengthy Early Access period. Right now it's the number one seller on Steam.

After a long Kickstarter campaign that shifted into a lengthy Early Access programme, Larian Studios has finally released the completed version of its fantasy RPG Divinity: Original Sin.

To mark the occasion, studio founder Swen Vincke has released a new video thanking fans for their support.

Editor toolkit coming to Divinity: Original Sin's Early Access version on June 20, includes Cow Simulator 2014

Larian Studios has revealed that the editor for Divinity: Original Sin will be available as part of the game's Early Access beta on June 26.

To top things off it comes with a sample module called 'Cow Simulator 2014', described by Larian as "perhaps the finest cow simulation ever released."

The release date for turn-based role-playing game Divinity: Original Sin has been pushed back by developer Larian Studios. It will now launch on June 30, ten days later than initially planned.

That extra time will be used for rigorous bug-squashing, adding some new voice-overs and other general tidying up.
