Slightly Mad Studios reveal eight new tracks for Project Cars

While the first round of track announcements "focused on some iconic European circuits," developer Slightly Mad Studios is now ready to name some tracks further afield for Project Cars.

There are some United States destinations including the first 'point-to-point' track which is a "beautiful drive down" the West Coast along the California Highway. Sunglasses are advised.

This late October EA will be releasing Need For Speed: Rivals Complete Edition, which is the original game with all its many DLC packs combined. It comes to PC and the consoles.

Right now the original is free to download through EA Access on Xbox One. This Complete Edition arrives as EA confirms no new Need for Speed is due this year.

GRiD Autosport's Touring Car Legends expansion now available

Codemasters has launched the Touring Car Legends expansion pack for GRiD Autosport, which becomes available through Steam for PC. It's also out on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Two new circuits are added - Silverstone Circuit and Donington Park - featuring multiple routes, and five classic Touring Cars. There are also new single player championships to beat.

Former COO Christopher Speed of SimBin Studios has announced they "decided to go through a re-structuring process" with the easiest route declaring bankruptcy, and forming a new studio.

Sector 3 Studios is the new entity for the Swedish developer, with 18 staff affected by the move, as they tried to "keep as much of the talent" from SimBin as possible.

In fact Tudor reveals that when they approached night racing in Need for Speed: Shift 2 they kept to a 'Resident Evil vibe'. If you lit everything up then there's no challenge.

Codemasters will be releasing a high resolution texture pack for GRID Autosport the same day it launches on PC. This is because the racer is PC-led and the studio doesn't want to tone it down because of consoles.

Compressed the texture pack is 5GB - down from 30GB. The PC version enjoys "just a bit bigger and higher res" than other versions, and isn't limited to 30FPS.

Slightly Mad Studios announces their new racer Project CARS will be out in the world this November as the "most authentic, beautiful, intense, and technically-advanced" racer to-date. It'll support virtual reality.

Oculus VR and even the fancy (and expensive) 4K resolutions will be featured in Project CARS. This new trailer breaks the news and weighs in at 1 minute 44 seconds of burnt rubber.

As was prophesied by the 18 second teaser last week, Codemasters has unveiled a new GRID game. It's called GRID: Autosport and the team is aiming for "more authentic racing" with this new entry.

They "hadn't quite achieved everything" they wanted with GRID 2, and admit they perhaps moved some things "too far away from our core fanbase." Autosport is a "much more focussed motorsport game".

The official GRID YouTube channel has added an 18 second teaser trailer which features mostly nothing but a few streaking red lights that dart across the screen. It's entitled 'Brace Yourselves... Racing Is Coming'.

Codemasters has been teasing something new is on the way for GRID and/or DiRT, and now we appear to have a date for the next GRID racer to be unveiled: April 22nd.

Road Rash spiritual successor Road Redemption releases early access alpha

The Kickstarter campaign for Road Redemption, which takes its cues from 1990's Road Rash, was a chain-swinging success. Now the combative bike racer is available with an early access alpha for $40.

It's not yet come to Steam Early Access but having passed Greenlight it will be eventually. Road Redemption is still in the very early stages so expect the unexpected in glitches.

Codemasters is once again teasing new game project announcements and remark it's "like the calm before the storm this week," while developers are "getting builds ready," and the PR staff prep their 'PR stuff'.

New DiRT and GRID titles have been teased for a while by Codemasters and it seems they're almost ready to show something. There's also more Formula One on the way.

Ubisoft's The Crew launches Autumn 2014, includes micro-transactions

Big open world racer The Crew, which stretches from coast-to-coast in the US, will be launching this autumn announces Ubisoft. Its focus is heavy on online racing with other players forming crews.

Micro-transactions are present as real world money can buy you progression. Everything "has got this dual currency approach," said creative director Julian Gerighty.

A release schedule from Ubisoft still has the ambitious Tom Clancy's The Division down for a 2014 release, with racer The Crew also pegged for the second half of the calendar year. No specific dates are available.

Recently some fresh images of The Division were released teasing an abandoned bridge, snowy street and more. Ubisoft has also dated Watch Dogs for a simultaneous May 27th release.

Stainless Games' Carmageddon: Reincarnation will be causing fresh waves of hysteria this March 27th as it comes screeching onto Steam Early Access. They can "finally do the stuff that we wanted to do".

Currently it's at the pre-Alpha stage and it has "more laughs, more bodily fluids, more thrills, more smashes" with Kickstarter backers gaining a two week earlier Early Access.

There are "secrets" over at Codemasters according to a new twitter tease from the studio, and this particular hush-hush topic is likely GRID related. The GRID twitter account has tweeted an image of a labelled door.

The world 'Playtest' is stamped on it followed by the caption "Shhhhh secrets". Codemasters is yet to announce future racing titles in the works but GRID seems like one. Call it a hunch.

The Steam Early Access of Bugbear Entertainment's Next Car Game has been tuned up with a new Figure 8 derby race event, and the classic American Sedan rolls its wheels onto the track.

There's also vary weather, a new cinematic camera for "taking snazzy screenshots" and a "hefty amount of other improvements" and bug fixes. All tracks are reversible.

Auto Club Revolution and NASCAR series developer Eutechnyx has just let go a further 12 employees, confirms CEO Darren Jobling. The studio is currently "developing more new IP" since a £6m investment in 2010.

They still house 130 employees and are recruiting in new areas, with a "major initiative involving China" to be announced. Reportedly they're helping Ubisoft Reflections.

Just because Slightly Mad Studios has announced racing MMO World of Speed, it doesn't mean something untoward has happened to their Oculus Rift and 4K supporting racer, Project Cars. It's still due in 2014.

To that end the British studio has released a new trailer about a minute long proving it's out this year. Project Cars has been in the works since 2011, and will finally cross the finish line in 2014.

A free-to-play racer MMO has been announced by developer Slightly Mad Studios. They're calling it World of Speed and describe it as a "AAA massively multiplayer online arcade racing" game.

The cars on offer range from city runners to cutting edge super cars, and they'll peel away on "true-to-life tracks" all around the globe. Closed beta is due this spring.
