|Why is Bethesda going down the ole timey route of subscriptions with The Elder Scrolls Online? Bethesda VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines has admitted he's "anxious" about it especially for the Elder Scrolls series.
They plan on regular content updates to feed hungry gamers, and that subs "fit best what we wanted to do," which is to provide "meaningful content support" regularly.

|Sony Online Entertainment boss John Smedley has posted a lengthy blog on explaining why a 'sandbox' approach to MMO design is the way forward, as the content-driven experience burns out too fast.
New content is done with "nearly immediately after it's released," with websites giving spoilers and loot drop rates. TESO 'follows content model' and will end up like SWTOR.

|Chris Gallizzi has demonstrated his coding wizardry by getting the Oculus VR to work with Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls Online MMO. He had contacted the studio for early access to add Oculus.
After receiving no reply, Gallizzi went through beta registration and was accepted. It's here he began tinkering with the MMO and got VR working, risking access.
