ZeniMax Online Studios has released a developer diary for The Elder Scrolls Online where fans are treated for the first time to actual gameplay. The video is just under nine and half minutes long.
Staff on the project talk about the world they're bringing to life with plenty of eye candy. TESO is set a millenia before Skyrim. ZeniMax say this is "the first in a series of regular" video updates.

In our interview with lead gameplay designer Nick Konkle for The Elder Scrolls Online, we learnt it's a kleptomania paradise. If it isn't nailed down you could probably 'liberate it' for use.

Bethesda's PR and marketing VP Pete Hines says they've learnt that after announcing The Elder Scrolls Online MMO that they are 'held accountable' to other people's decisions and remarks.
The MMO market has changed since unveiling the project, and the "ability to trust or believe" what the studio has to say is hampered by things Bethesda "had nothing to do with".

The reactions to Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls Online MMO has been mixed, as the studio was expecting them to be. Some assumed it would be "Skyrim, but massively multiplayer."
That level of fidelity though can't be reached for an MMO, says Pete Hines. When it was "first conceived" they knew it would get mixed commentary, and likened it to Fallout 3's beginnings.
