This mod from DarthNerd features new units, 12-fighter squadrons, realistic speeds of projectiles, updated and more-canon build tree, and changed hardpoints.

Squadrons will have 12 fighters per unit (Done)
Several units will be (and have been) added, such as Liberator carrier and Republic SD.
Projectiles will have realistic (canon) speeds- torpedoes and missiles just shy of lasers. (Done)
Solid projectiles will not go through shields. (Done)
Most ships will have ion cannons removed and replaced with more useful missiles. (Done)
Damage, shields, shield recharge will be brought to canon levels. (Done)
Planets will be added that were cut.
More Galactic conquest, with playable Hutts and Black Sun.
Existing GC updated
New menu overlay
Mixed-up soundtrack (mostly done)
Fighters have missiles/torpedoes depending on type and canon (done).
Ships that need shields (Vengeance, TIE Interceptor, TIE/D) Shielded (Done)
MC-30c frigate now spawns fighters.
Population value 1 for ALL units. (Done)
Thrawn Spawns Scimitars instead of TIE bombers (Done)
Enhanced and more-canon Tech tree.
