A very basic mod manager which will detect the mod packs you have in your ETW\data directory and allow you to enable/disable and order them as you please. When you launch the game from the mod manager, your user.empire_script.txt will be updated according

Ever since I found I needed this for some of the mods, I have been trying to get one that WORKS! All I ever get is the "[appname].exe has encountered an error and needs to shut down" message. It won't even load. ummmmmm....help?

Ensure you have the Mod Manager with all of it's contents as a RAR file on your desktop.

Ok. I tried running it from the desktop. same result. The files were in the RAR. I extracted just the modmanager and tried that. that didn't work. In fact, I have tried just about every possible cofiguration of this and it simply won't work. I've run it from the desktop, from the ETW directory, from it's own directory, etc etc etc... To say that I am getting a little frustrated is understating it a wee tad.

Don't extract anything. Leave it as a RAR file on your desktop (complete). You only need to run the Mod Manager once from within the RAR file, and after that the game can be launched normally and the mods will run.

ok I tried that and no joy. I thought maybe it was being caught by my anti-virus or something, so I shut down EVERYTHING that was running in the background and tried it again. Still no joy. It's not the file it self, I'vr re-downloaded it a few times to be sure. Also it's not the version, I've tried a few previous versions with the same result. Does it need a clean un-modded ETW to work?

Depends on the mods you are running. BSM, the Sound Mod I have uploaded and the Flags Mod are really the only compatible mods.

hey fellas i'm kind of new here on the web soo help me out everytime i run the mod manager it gives me "applicaton error" the application failed to initialize properly (0*c0000135).click on ok to terminate the application.

Ok well I've almost givin' up. I totally un-installed ETW and re-installed it. No mods, all AV and anti-spyware turned off did everything according to your instructions, and still nothing. this is getting frustrating since I really want to try some of these mods that require the manager to use.

Place the Mod files you want in the Data directory of ETW. Download the Modmanager into "My Documents" as a complete RAR file (must be a RAR file). Cut & Paste the full RAR file onto your dektop. Double-click on the RAR file and a new window should open. Double click on the *.exe file and the ModManager will open. De-select both check boxes under "Launch ETW" and the Mods you have installed should show up on the left. Check those Mods and then click on "Lauch ETW". Running this once, and keeping the RAR file on your desktop should allow you to run ETW normally with the Mods enacted. Remember to just install the Mods that are compatible with Patch 1.5...Like BSM 4.1.
I honestly don't know why you guys are having these problems. Sorry I can't be of more help.

It only downloads as a .ZIP not a .RAR does that make a differance?

Yes, you do need WinRAR (which is free anyway).

I have winRAR, that's not what I mean. When I download it, it saves as ModManager_1-5.zip (note the extension is a "zip" NOT an "rar"). Does that make any differance or should it work as either a "zip" or an "rar". I know some people use the extensions interchangeably and really there not.

Honestly, I'd get rid of WinZIP...your download will default to it. It has to be a RAR file.
