CCP Games unveils outdoor monument to "immortalize" EVE Online players

Confirmation from CCP Games has just been announced that they will proceed with an outdoor monument to the EVE Online community, which they revealed plans for at Fanfest 2013.

It will serve as a "physical manifestation of the respect and appreciation" that CCP has for its fans, and as a "gift to Reykjavik," the studio's home for the past 16 years.

Think your landlord is tough? The largest ever conflict between players has erupted in EVE Online and is estimated to have cost thousands of dollars in lost ships, including over 70 Titans.

Someone forgot to pay rent. A player corporation let their station rent lapse which soon led to a sector becoming 'available', and so a whole lot of pew-pew ensued.

CCP Games and EVE Online community raise $190,890 for Typhoon Haiyan Relief

Developer CCP Games has just announced that the 'PLEX for GOOD' campaign has earned $190,890 from the EVE Online community, with the funds donated to the Icelandic Red Cross.

The fundraiser was to aid the Philippines in their recovery after Typhoon Haiyan. Through the 'PLEX for GOOD' program users donate in-game currency for causes.

EVE Online developer CCP Games believes the secret formula to getting an MMO beyond 10 years of life is to believe it's never finished, that it can "always be better." Rivals are declining whereas EVE is growing.

Part of the tremendous success is the interaction with the community both in and out the game, with CMO David Reid stating you must turn over "a certain level of control" to players.
