Lionhead after Unreal Engine devs for "reimagining existing franchises"

Is another Fable on the horizon? Are we going to return to Albion, the land of golden breadcrumb following Heroes? It could be as job ads for Lionhead Studios seek developers experienced with Unreal Engine.

They specifically state these new employees would be an extra shoe in if they had knowledge of 'reimaging' established franchises. Reading between the lines it points heavily toward a new Fable.

Fable Heroes lead designer Ted Timmins has said the "great thing" about Albion, the world of the Fable series, is that it can support virtually any type of game, like a co-op adventure.

XBLA title Fable Heroes has just released. With it they focused on the "combat side and the feel of Albion" in their 4-player hack-and-slash arcade title. Could we see an RTS?

Peter Molyneux has departed from Lionhead Studios, now owned by Microsoft Game Studios, because he's determined to push creativity again and feels it's best done with his new company.

Molyneux's role as big boss of Lionhead was getting in the way of his true passion; designing and making games. It was an "incredible challenge" to remain creative and be in charge.

Peter Molyneux says Kinect's Fable: The Journey, which "isn't on rail", uses "huge amounts of technology" from their cancelled 'tech demo' Project Milo.

The Lionhead Studios boss also teased they've got a "super secret second project" in development alongside it. He wouldn't elaborate any details.

Tomorrow, May 17th, is the official release for PC Fable III which retailed on Xbox 360 late last year. The original game was also released on PC - what of Fable II?

Lionhead's coders have already moved on to "new projects", reveals senior designer Mike West. The "time was right" for Fable III to cross over to the PC desktop.
