1. INTRODUCTION
===============

This mod allows you to unequip the Pip boy 3000 and the Pip Boy glove. The pip boy can be equipped by pressing 'Tab' as usual, but F1-F3 will not reequip it. It can also be reequipped by pressing '9'. Pressing '9' will also add a Pip Boy to your inventory, should it have disappeared.

Please note that there are some issues due to limitations in the Fallout 3 Engine.

Fallout Script Extender v1.1 beta 9 or later (can be found at fose.silverlock.org)

3. INSTALLATION AND UNINSTALLATION
==================================

a. Install
----------

Perform the following steps. WARNING: Steps 4 - 6 are performed in game, and should not be skipped!!!

1) Extract Zumbs' Equipable Pipboy.esp to your Fallout 3/Data folder
2) Open your favorite mod manager, and check Zumbs' Equipable Pip Boy.esp
3) Launch the game and load a save
4) Just after loading the save, open your inventory and drop all pip boys (right mousebutton). Remove non-equipped pip boys first.
5) Close your inventory and press 9.
6) Open your inventory and unequip your pip boy. This should close the inventory. Pressing Tab should reequip the pip boy and open the inventory.

b. Uninstall
------------

1) Load your save and ensure that your pip boy and glove are equipped
2) Close the game
3) Open your favorite mod manager and uncheck Zumbs' Equipable Pip Boy.esp
4) Load up your save and ensure that you can open your inventory

If you forgot to equip the pip boy, open the console (the key just below Esc) and write the lines

player.AddItem 15038 1
player.EquipItem 15038 1 1
ResetPipboyManager

4. TROUBLESHOOTING
==================

As noted earlier, there are a number of limitations/bugs in the Fallout 3 engine that causes some problems for this mod.

* Pip boy screen does not close when pip boy is removed.
Scripts added to inventory items may not run. If this should happen, please perform steps 4-6 of the installation.

* I cannot open the pip boy
Press '9' and try again. If this does not help, open the console (the key just below Esc) and write the lines

player.AddItem 15038 1
player.EquipItem 15038 1 1
ResetPipboyManager

5. COMPATIBILITY
================

This mod will conflict with mods that edit the pip boy or pip boy glove, such as Pipboy Be Gone. It will not conflict with mods that change the textures or meshes of the pip boy, provided that is all that they do.
