Square Enix has revealed a new video for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn that announces a cross-title collaboration with Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which will see Lightning descend upon the realm of Eorzea.

Since the August 28th relaunch of Final Fantasy XIV the MMO has seen around 1,080,000 unique logins which levels out to around 617k unique logins per day with their highest user concurrent at 344k.

Updates on the way include player housing for all major cities, new dungeons including a FFIII inspired Crystal Tower, new PvP arena, and a beauty parlour.

Volition's Saint Row IV really speaks to the British public as it keeps the UK chart crown for its third week running. Marching in formation right behind it is Creative Assembly's Total War: Rome II.

The console launch for Diablo III gives the Blizzard's action-RPG 3rd place. Splinter Cell: Blacklist is 4th, and Farming Simulator 2013 10th. MMO Final Fantasy XIV falls 11th.

If you've bought Square Enix's once again troubled Final Fantasy XIV MMO through the PlayStation Network on either August 27th or the 28th then you'll be getting your funds back, announce Sony.

PSN users will "find the funds in their wallet" to be spent elsewhere. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has been hit with crippling server issues due to demand, with free game time offered.

Server woe betides MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as millions (of data) clog capacity. Square Enix has decided to grant an "additional seven days" of free game time for those affected (everyone).

The relaunched MMO will be taken offline for emergency maintenance work in a bid to alleviate the troubles. Registering before September 9th expires will net you this extra free 7 days.
