Epic Games: Unreal Engine still "unbeaten"
Epic Games senior producer Chris Wynn says the studio is unfazed by such engines as CryEngine or Frostbite, stating that the Unreal Engine remains unbeaten.

Epic Games has announced that it has opened a Seattle studio where the developer will be focusing on developing games based on the Unreal Engine 4. The studio has also started hiring for the new studio.

Epic Games has revealed more info about its strange upcoming hybrid title Fortnite at the PAX Prime 2012 convention in Seattle, WA. The game was described as a "co-op sandbox survival game" by producer Tanya Jessen. In essence, a cross between Minecraft and Plants vs. Zombies.

Epic's upcoming tower-defense title Fortnite was revealed as a PC exclusive last week, but that status may come with some baggage, as producer Tanya Jessen has stated that Epic hasn't ruled out "always-on DRM".

Epic Games has revealed during their San Diego Comic Con 2012 panel for the game Fortnite, which will be the first game to use the Unreal Engine 4 engine, will be a PC exclusive.
Fortnite is an open world tower defense title that is strongly inspired by Minecraft, in which players build fortresses during the day with traps and weapons, then fend off enemy forces at night.
