London 2012 climbs to UK number one, LEGO Batman 2 runner-up

The London 2012 Olympics video game has finally achieved gold thanks to the start of the actual Olympic games in London. This has left LEGO Batman 2 valiantly holding on 2nd.

Mario & Sonic London 2012 has also risen in the charts coming 3rd, as Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is nudged 4th. UK gamers have finally caught some Olympic fever it seems.

Some coding enthusiasts have discovered a little something in Ubisoft's Uplay platform for PC leading others to blast it as a 'rootkit'. It stealthly installs a browser plug-in which isn't secure.

The plugin granted its discoverer "unexpectedly (at least to me) wide access" to websites. It's a rather embarrassing hiccup if true.

UPDATE: Trend Micro's Rik Ferguson, director of the security research firm, has said it's "not a malicious root, just really bad code." It's "a huge risk" .

Fifth week of LEGO Batman 2 leading UK chart

Sales may be down 10% but LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is yet to find itself ousted from the UK all format chart throne. It's bested every other title for longest consecutive streak this year.

Still holding 2nd is London 2012: The Official Video Game, while Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier climbs to 3rd, nudging The Amazing Spider-Man down 4th. Kingdom Hearts 3D enters 6th.

Ubisoft's quarterly fiscal uplifted 27.2%, Ghost Recon and Trials Evolution praised

Publisher Ubisoft has thoroughly patted on the back Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Trials Evolution as helping to lead the charge in their 27.2% upswing in quarterly earnings.

The quarter in question is from April to June this year. Total sales topped €130 million, compared to the same period lasting year at €103 million. Ubisoft's online sales up 112%.

First Ghost Recon: Future Soldier DLC delayed, needs "further polish"

Ubisoft are delaying the first DLC pack for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier which was due out tomorrow, July 3rd. Now it will simply arrive later in the month, they announce.

The team wanted a "small amount of extra time" to polish the DLC. The map pack adds new multiplayer maps, a new online mode, new Guerrilla Mode co-op map and 6 weapons.
