Grand Theft Auto IV clears 25m sales since 2008, remained strong in last quarter

Take-Two has revealed that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV has racked up 25 million sales since launching back in 2008, and remained one of the publisher's leading performers this last fiscal quarter.

The next GTA releases September 17th and is the third most pre-ordered title since records began at E3 2013 in June. The franchise has sold over 125 million copies as of November 2010.

Take 2 has announced that the publisher earned $1.222B for the fiscal year 2013 ending on the 31st March, crediting such titles as BioShock Infinite, MLB 2K13, and Borderlands 2 downloadable content as the chief source, while older titles also drove sales.

Rockstar create Spotify and iTunes playlists for GTA radio stations

Fancy a blast of nostalgia in the ears? Rockstar Games has gone ahead and "compiled the official set of playlists" for the Grand Theft Auto series, including Chinatown Wars. Some tracks are missing however.

Only music already available via the two services are included in the playlists, but Rockstar hope to "add the original songs" created for the games. Only want to listen to the commercials?

Windows Store "begins accepting" 18-rated games

Microsoft has just remembered big kids - even adults - play games on PC too, and have lifted their completely silly ban on 18-rated titles from their Windows Store. Welcome to the real world.

Microsoft have stated they're "expanding our commitment to Windows Store games", as they add support for PEGI 18 titles. Upcoming 'big boy' games are GTA IV and The Witcher 2.

Producer Leslie Benzies of Rockstar Games dreams of a video game world where all their iconic spoof-heavy cities were happily connected to one another in a single Grand Theft Auto title.

It's an ambitious goal to be sure given the breadth of scope Rockstar pour into their GTA universes. In the context of this 'super GTA' - reimagining Vice City "would be very interesting."
