Viktor Antonov played a crucial role in Valve's Half-Life 2 as it was he that concepted a lot of City 17 and the Combine architecture. Why did the art director leave Valve of all places?

Actually his explanation is quite a simple one. Valve "stopped making epic, triple-As," and turned to episodes. That just wasn't enough to satisfy Antonov, who has worked at Arkane on Dishonored.

Valve boss Gabe Newell pins hopes on constant innovation, and so if it starts to struggle then they'd consider releasing hardware themselves, despite probably being rubbish at it.

It would be a last resort but a necessary one to "get these kind of projects started" - it's "definitely not the first thought" they have at Valve, but they'd take on the challenge if need be.

A Steam Group calling themselves 'A Call for Communication (Half-Life)' is now 10k members strong and they're campaigning for fans to be given more Half-Life info.

It's been a "frustrating experience" getting nothing from Valve over the series' future, and while it's "greatly appreciated" the support current titles are getting, they want a word or two on Half-Life.

Peter Molyneux has explained how his son's video plea to Valve came about, saying his son Lucas "has this obsession" with making a video of his own.

The studio boss was at home working, filming a promotion for Fable III when his son seized an opportunity. Lucas is "always talking about" Half-Life 3.

The arrival of Source Engine 2 is to be Valve's surprise at E3 2010 according to a source (the blabbermouth kind, not the engine tech kind).

It's also "possible" that we'll catch a glimpse of Half-Life 3 running on it, but then again Unicorns maybe declared real just as 'possibly'.
