I suppose it should be noted that this is release 2 or UHF 0.0.1, it does have significant advances over the previous version, including modified weapons systems & overall gameplay enhancements. Not to mention double the ships & a sort of half way working AI. Research is out for the moment, although it does work the ships do not gain any benefit from researching aside from allowing them to be built, such as the destroyers, battlecruisers & the multibeam frigate. Also of note the Bentusi team is in for a play, but there are still many issues & incomplete items (they can build acolytes & cargo barges but have no harvesters). After downloading the files you will need to put both .big files in your HW2 data folder, there are pre-provided shortcuts, one AI big file(tiny file) & the mod UHF-0.0.1.big (28.6mb)

Comments & suggestions welcome as always, but please keep in mind it is only release two & is still an inprogress mod. Most of my time has been spent converting ships & finding out how to mod HW2 previously, now there are still many ships to convert, but I have a much firmer grasp on most concepts used by the ships & their subsystems.

NOTE: I use a free host for my site, so players may need to click the download link serveral times before the file downloads correctly, I myself had to try link 3 more than 5 times to get the file to download completely, if it says less megs than what the original download size was, then you need to try again, sorry. I'll try to have it up here today.

It's probably a good idea to continue with my regular updates, since the 0.0.1 release I have added: Kiith Somtaaw Dreadnought, Kushan Minelayer Corvette (need to add correct mines & position release), Kushan Target Drone (was thinking a decoy unit), Taiidan Research Station, Taiidan Mining Base (Inhibitor) & a bunch of junk parts. I'm still having a large problem with the Research Station, for some reason the front & rear textures are shadowing extremely dark - even when the light is right on those textures they still appear to be shaded. Also the Mining Base, although the model is fine, the formation file will not rotate the ships correctly - I figured I could make it like a fighter squadron, have 8 to the squadron & edit a custom formation script. It does work, but the angles are incorrect & also each section starts in some wild position when the level loads (doesn't do it as a single ship) and then straightens out. I have also decided to use some of the smaller junk pieces that are converted to be used as custom salvage.
