Square Enix's lacklustre Q2 earnings

Publisher Square Enix has revealed its performance for the first half of this fiscal year as they post up their Q2 figures, and it's not so hot in the digits.

Sales and operating income were down, although the latter outperformed expectation thanks to past releases still going strong. 8.17m sales in total.

Just Cause has film rights optioned

L+E Pictures have optioned the film rights to Avalanche Studios' Just Cause franchise, which will now be developed with producer Adrian Askarieh.

Askarieh brought Eidos' Hitman IP to cinema, and a sequel is in motion. He's also busy with Kane & Lynch, starring Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx.

Just Cause 2 developer Avalanche Studio has reignited rumours that they're linked with the upcoming Mad Max movie videogame, because of twitter.

Is there anything that annoying social spam fest can't do? Studio boss Christofer Sundberg re-twittered certain lamentations of one Cory Barlog.

Avalanche Studios' Just Cause 2 now packs more Black Market Boom for your buck as Steam, Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network get DLC.

It adds the Quad Rocket Launcher, the Cluster Bomb Launcher and the Air Propulsion Gun for havoc wreaking Ricos all over the world to enjoy.
