Report: Gerard Butler aboard Kane & Lynch movie project

According to reports from the Hollywood land, actor Gerard Butler will star as Kane in the upcoming Kane & Lynch movie project with F. Gary Gray set to direct. The role of Lynch is being offered to Vin Diesel.

Since 2007 a movie adaptation of IO Interactive's game has been in the works. Nothing has been heard of the Kane & Lynch franchise since 2010's Dog Days with a Metacritic in the low 60s.

Voice actor Robin Sachs passes away at 61

Veteran voice actor Robin Sachs, who is best known for voicing the irascible mercenary Zaeed Massani from the Mass Effect series, has passed away at age 61; yesterday was the actor's birthday. Cause of death is unknown at this time.

Square Enix profits plummet 76.6%, Kane & Lynch 2 clear million

Publisher Square Enix has reported a huge drop in sales and earnings for the nine months leading to December 31st. Profits fell sharply by 76.6 percent.

The good news is that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 each managed over a million sales during those three quarters.

More Kane & Lynch is planned, they're "not going to disappear"

Eidos life president Ian Livingstone has confirmed there will be more Kane & Lynch coming from Danish-based IO Interactive, despite the "Marmite effect".

He admits people either "loved it or hated it" with the sequel and its shaky home video style camera. It was "thrill-a-minute instant action stuff," said Livingstone.

Square Enix's lacklustre Q2 earnings

Publisher Square Enix has revealed its performance for the first half of this fiscal year as they post up their Q2 figures, and it's not so hot in the digits.

Sales and operating income were down, although the latter outperformed expectation thanks to past releases still going strong. 8.17m sales in total.
