Rhode Island to sell 38 Studios' Kingdoms of Amalur IP, "interest in the assets"
After the disaster that was the collapse of 38 Studios, the Kingdoms of Amalur franchise was left gagged and bound in some obscure cabinet, but now Rhode Island is preparing to sell it off to those interested.
Apparently there are a number of people sniffing around the IP, which analyst Michael Pachter appraises to be worth around $20 million. Rhode Island was left $130m in debt.

Publisher EA is shaking things up and among the casualties list is apparently the EA Partners label which saw third-party developers have their work signed up for distribution through EA's retail channels.
The likes of Crysis, Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Bulletstorm and Rock Band all passed through the program, but now it faces the chop in the pursuit of streamlining.

Schilling moves to dismiss $75M suit from Rhode Island

38 Studio founder Curt Schilling and his legal team have moved to have the court dismiss the lawsuit by The Rhode Island Economic Development Corp. that claimed Schilling's studio defrauded the state, accusing it of "racketeering and conspiracy".

After coaxing 38 Studios to come to Rhode Island with a $75M loan to create jobs in the state, Gov. Chaffee and Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) have filed suit against the former development studio, in particular 38 Studios founder and former Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling and former company CEO Jennifer Maclean, as well as banks Wells Fargo and Barclays Capital.
