BladeIN is a replacement gametype for the stock Invasion game type that shipped with Land of the Dead for the PC.

BladeIN, and all other Land of the Dead mods, and multiplayer use REQUIRE that you have V1.1 of Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green installed. Here is where to go to get the V1.1 patch:

Moddb.com

If you don't know if you have V1.0 or not, when you open the game, in the upper right hand corner of the main menu, it will says "1.1" if you have installed the 1.1 patch. Also, if you have 1.0, you will not see any games in the Multiplayer games list.

Version 1.1 applies all fixes that I have made to the game as a whole, directly to DM and CTF (BladeDM and BladeCTF, respectively). Version 1.1 also adds several new features to Invasion, DM, and CTF.

* Fixes that apply to all:
Major performance enhancements in single, and multiplayer, ESPECIALLY as a server.
Many error messages that were written to the games logs are fixed.
Servers no longer lag for several seconds when someone dies while they are looking way up or way down.

* New enhancements that apply to all games:
Character Selection after connection to the server - This allows server operators to relatively easily add new characters to play as in multiplayer, with new models, skins, and/or other attributes. Mod authors could easily bend this to make class based mods, or other nice things. Right now, shortly after the release of BladeIN 1.1, I will be releasing packages that will allow you to play LotD multiplayer as a Cop, a SWAT member, Roger and Peter from Dawn of the Dead, and "Michele", a character made by a user known as "Zen". The models used for these characters are existing zombie models, with the skins changed to more accurately represent the living.

Server restores itself to the level it was playing when it is closed or crashes - allows you to continue your map rotation when the server is stopped or crashes.

Enhanced HUD that greatly decreases the size of chat (you may remember in the original game you could only fit two lines of text in the chat area, and they took up most of the bottom of the screen), and allows mod authors to communicate with the players much more easily.

... 1.1 also includes two major fixes for game itself, so I think everyone will want to install it. There is a major performance enhancement, the same one that applies especially to servers, will give you a nice little boost in single player mode, especially if you do not have an extremely fast computer as it is. And it will also fix the bug that causes the game to crash when downloading files from very fast servers (such as the undeadgames.com server)

... Version 1.2 is in development, and may be released some day.
