Electronic Arts has confirmed a troubling glitch for Mass Effect 3 gamers who are trying to import their Mass Effect 2 saves into the game: those who saved their ME2 games on a cloud server will not be able to import them to ME3.

Electronic Arts has announced that Mass Effect 3's preorder sales are well ahead of Mass Effect 2's pace, which would seem to indicate that a massive blockbuster is on their hands. This will also be the first time that the series has been released on all three platforms on the same day.

BioWare's Nick Clifford admits the studio dropped the ball when orientating new players into the series with Mass Effect 2, with the first half hour "pretty jarring" story wise.

For Mass Effect 3 BioWare has altered how characters interact with Commander Shephard depending whether a game save is loaded from or not. We get a "story so far" intro.

EA to run Origin promotions over the holidays

Valve isn’t the only ones running a sale this year - EA have announced a couple of promotions that will run over the holidays on their own online store/portal - Origin.

First up - for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day only (24th and 25th of December, just FYI), you'll be able to pick up Battlefield 3 at 50% off. Unless you're German, then you only get 33% off since Santa said you'd all been bad eggs this year...
