EA tease "new ways to play" Mass Effect 3, after "larger market"

The most recent news for Mass Effect 3 is its delay into Q4, which means anytime from January to March next year. EA teases something else though.

Apparently there's "new ways to play" the third instalment, and its delay was because of "purposefully shifting it to address a larger market opportunity."

While publisher EA reveals they did post an overall loss for FY2011, it was at least down from the previous 12 month period. Sales meanwhile stayed strong.

They also reveal Battlefield 3 pre-orders are up 700% over Bad Company 2's figures, confirming a "superior" studio is behind it. EA out release schedule.

In news sure to disappoint roleplaying gamers everywhere, Mass Effect 3 has been delayed til the first three months of 2012.

Rumour: BioWare working on fantasy space RPG 'Project Zulu'?

Images of 'Project Zulu' have appeared on the web sourced from the development version of Xbox Live Marketplace. It says "BioWare presents" the project.

It's a "fantasy role playing action adventure in space!" There are DLC test packs listed as well. The description says there's no multiplayer or co-op in 'Zulu'.

Casey Hudson, Mass Effect supremo, has said BioWare is continuing to "think of a way" you and friends can play in Mass Effect but they "haven't yet come up with a way".

They don't want just multiplayer clich├ęs like team deathmatch. An MMO setting "kind of makes sense" for Mass Effect he said; the IP "has that quality" to it.
