Benzies: Last 5-10% makes "huge difference", GTA's quality "not seen" by most

Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar North, hails the accomplishments a studio can achieve in that "last five to ten per cent of work" on a game, which can grant all the difference in the world when it's finished.

Frankly, the "level of perfection" witnessed in the likes of Grand Theft Auto V is "not seen or understood" by the majority of the industry, remarked Benzies.

The Last of Us retains UK chart lead, followed by Animal Crossing: New Leaf

For another week Naughty Dog's The Last of Us has kept itself atop the UK all format chart. Next up is Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Leaf, with FIFA 13 rising up to take 3rd. Tomb Raider was 4th.

Max Payne 3 suddenly appears again now that's its out for Mac. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 revives 6th, up from 14th. GRID 2 has fallen back 10th, having been replaced by FIFA 13.

Rockstar to reveal "first info soon" on Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer

In a Rockstar Newswire post talking about the new Crews system they introduced with Max Payne 3, the studio teases in their opening line that "first info" about GTA V online is due out soon for fans to digest.

They say a whole slew of Crews are "rallying, preparing and raring to go" with some interesting emblems. Rockstar has said that Crews would 'carry over' into GTA V.

The Deathmatch Made in Heaven DLC Pack for Max Payne 3 multiplayer is available today for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of the game. The DLC will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10 USD / £7.29), and is free for gamers who purchased the Rockstar Pass.

Rockstar North seeks Core Engine Programmer for "next-gen platforms" Poll

There's investment in the future going on over at Rockstar Games, with Grand Theft Auto's R* North on the hunt for an "experienced programmer" to tinker with "core engine development".

That'll be for "current and next-gen" platforms, says the job ad. They also want a Physics Programmer for "cutting-edge physics and collision", although there's no specific mention of 'next-gen'.
