when i select campaign mode in medieval total war after i select a nation the screen begins to load only for it to stop and return to main menu...why is this wat can i do to fix it..help please

I'm also having this problem, although mine was working ok for a while, but now whenever i try to reload a save, it just crashes out back to the desktop. I'll try the patch above, but anyone got any other ideas?

I downloaded, and ran the patch, then restarted my computer. When I start the game I am notified to insert disk. I inserted disk 1 was given same error, inserted disk 2 told to insert disk 1. Before the patch the main screen would load and I could play all features but campaign.
