INTRODUCTION -----------------------------------------------

Q4 WOD is based on the WOD mod, also known as WEAPONS, for Quake 2. For those not familiar with the Q2 mod, WOD was the original "excessive" mod ever made. Though it isn't an excessive mod. Unlike current excessive mods out there for various game, WOD still keeps things balanced and the action serious enough for competition.

There are still a ton of features that we haven't included yet, but there will be a hook soon!

INSTALLATION -----------------------------------------------

Create a folder under your Q44 directory nameed "weapons" and extract contents into the weapons folder. Make sure that you do not put the weapons folder under you baseq4.

C:ID SOFTWAREQUAKE 4WEAPONS

To run the mod you can either load it from your in-game mod menu or create a shortcut to the q4 exe and add:

+set fs_game weapons

Some people have stated that they can no longer use the console after installing the mod, so optionally you can add:

+set com_allowConsole 1 +set fs_game weapons

ALTFIRE
To use the new altfire. Edit your config and add the line:

bind "whateverkey" "_button1"

BUG:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
If you hit your fire key and altfire key at the same time, the gun will stick and keep firing. If it happens just switch to a different weapon and back.

THE MOD ----------------------------------------------------

WOD can be used both in Multiplayer and Single Player.


WEAPONS (Currently)

o BLASTER / BIG GUN

PRIFIRE - Now shoots the alternate charged projectile and causes 30 Damage & 20 Splash Damage. Rate of fire is now 4 seconds.
CHARGED FIRE - The charged fire now uses the projectile used by the air defense cannon in the single player game.

To use the charged fire, just hold down the fire button until the gun lights up.

o MACHINEGUN / GRENADE LAUNCHER

PRIFIRE - Shoots slightly slower and has slightly
more damage.
ALTFIRE - Shoots small grenade that loves to bounce.

o SHOTGUN / SLUG GUN

PRIFIRE - Same with a slight boost. More damage in single player game.
ALTFIRE - Shoots a large slug that does plenty of damage.

o HYPERBLASTER / MEGABLASTER

PRIFIRE - Same, but with more damage.
ALTFIRE - Shoots a red projectile that is bigger and does more damage. Has a slower rate of fire then normal and moves slower.

o BAZOOKA / DRUNK ROCKET

PRIFIRE - The projectile will no longer bounce on the ground. The GL will lob a grenade in an arc and will explode on impact.
ALTFIRE - Shoots a slow moving rocket that has a random path. If you manage to directly hit someone with this crazy rocket, they'll know it. Additionally, the rocket can be shot down.

o CHAINGUN / FLAK CANNON

PRIFIRE - Shoots bullets and an extremely fast
rate.
ALTFIRE - Shoots bouncing shards of metal, like the flak gun from unreal.

o ROCKET LAUNCHER / SPEED ROCKET

PRIFIRE - Shoots stronger rockets at a higher speed.
ALTFIRE - Fires faster, weaker rockets and a higher rate of speed.

o RAILGUN

PRIFIRE - Rail effects are smaller so they don't get in the way and disappear faster. Damage has been increased from 100 to 115 and fires slightly faster. Singleplayer the railgun now does 500 damage.
ZOOM - Yep, still a zoom.

o LIGHTNING GUN / FIREFLY

PRIFIRE - By default the lightning will arc/chain off the target and hit nearby players
(Same as the Lightning Chain Mod in SP)
ALTFIRE - Shoots a swarm of random, floating death things.

BUG: ALTFIRE SOUNDS.

o DMG / DMG

PRIFIRE - SUPER FAST SLICK SHIT! A faster moving projectile.
ALTFIRE - Is same slow moving dmg we all know, but will do quite a bit more damage as it is traveling.


SINGLE-PLAYER
The only real difference in the SP side of the game is that the Railgun is truely a 1-shot-1-kill weapons - does 500 HP. Also the sniper rifle's rate of fire is faster.


MULTIPLAYER
The Gauntlet has been removed and replaced with the blaster.
And the flashlights work...


MISC FEATURES

o EASTER EGGS
We've changed some random game text out of bordom. Some of the changes are fairly obvious, but others are hard to find. I think there are 17 text changes... Can you find them all?

o WEAPON SWITCH TIME
The time it takes to switch weapons has been decreased by 50%

o HUD
Using modified MP Hud from q4max.

o BRIGHTSKINS
What mod isn't a mod without brightskins! Plus we've colored the grenade green and the rockets red.

o MAX AMMO
The Max ammo has been increased for most weapons.
RL & GL - 100
HB & NG - 500

o INITIAL AMMO
The ammo you get with weapon pickups has been increased.

o PLAYER MOVEMENT
The player now moves slightly faster and jumps higher. This works in both SP and MP. Also when you become a strogg in SP, you get more boosts.

o HEALTH / ARMOR
The rate at which health and armor counts down has been reduced. Original both were set to take 1 point per second. Health, 1 point per 1.5seconds. Armor, 1 point per 3seconds.

Decreased damage for hyperblaster.
Removed guided rockets and seeking nails. Replaced with speed rocket and street sweeper. Removed "hearing loss" caused by shotty.
Removed WOD backgrownd due to some bugs, will include later.
Included Brightskins this time.
