Producer Masachika Kawata is less 'enthusiastic' with taking Resident Evil in a more action-orientated direction after feedback from their latest instalments. Although he still believes it's generally right.

Operation Raccoon City, essentially a "pure shooter" set in the RE universe, would likely do better as a sequel if they 'brought back' a lot of horror. It would bring together elements "we need".

Before Resident Evil 4 took the shape it did, designer Yasuhisa Kawamura wrote and helped design a very different tale in a bid to "make biohazard 4 scarier" - it went through "several iterations".

In the end it collapsed as there were "many obstacles" and it was "deemed too expensive." What became Resident Evil 4 was the "best idea out of all of them," claimed Kawamura-san.

Releasing exclusively via e-Capcom in Japan is the Resident Evil 15th Anniversary Box which includes the original three Resi Evil titles for PSone.

It also has the Revival Selection for PS3 which includes HD remakes of Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 4. There's a spacer for Resi Evil 5 too.

Capcom has published a promotion trailer for Resident Evil's upcoming catalogue of new instalments, but also gets nostalgic with past undead glories.

Having kicked off in 1996, Resident Evil is now 15-years old. Revelations, The Mercenaries 3D and HD remakes of RE4 and Code Veronica X are coming.

The first screens of Capcom's recently announced Resident Evil Revival Selection have broke out of Umbrella Corporation, spreading their HD infection.

Revival Selection includes Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4. Precise details on what Capcom add or change haven't been disclosed.
