Sacred Hints, Tips

Blood Hack
Note that this involes editting a file vital to the game's ability to function, so make a back-up before you proceed.

Look for the file settings.cfg in your Sacred game directory. Use Notepad.exe to open it and look for the string VIOLENCE: 2 and change it to VIOLENCE: 1

Save the file in CFG format and see how Europe likes its gore.

Cheating Bunny
If you cheat during the game at any time, then export your character, he'll be wearing a bunny-suit. If you play online with a character with cheats, then other people will see you as a giant rabbit.

Pac-Man Cave
West of the town of Faeries Crossing there is a hidden path in the woods that leads to a dungeon entrance. In this dungeon is a maze with dots you can munch, and ghosts that will kill you in one hit, just like the classic arcade game Pac-Man.

So I just dug this game up. I\'ve been playing it pretty regular the past 3-4 days and I have to say the game is pretty well done. First of all let\'s clear one thing up though, this is NOT a Diablo or Diablo 2 clone. Yes, it have left click and right click, and you learn spells and assign attribute/skill points after you level from gaining so much experience, and you select a character class. Those are some pretty common things to most of the RPG genre. So, I\'m going to go into what makes this game different.\n\nFirst of all, it\'s not just hack \'n slash. Mostly, yes, but to fill in those gaps are literally tons of quests with nice rewards and experience. Not to mention the quests are actually worth reading. They are also kept on a nicely organized check list for us completion crazy people. Speaking of completion, there is also a little counter to tell you how much of the map you have explored in a 00.00% format, so make sure you get in every little crack and shadow.\n\nSocketing system is different than several games I\'ve played. You can enhance a socket through the use of a blacksmith to give it abilities. Or, you can insert runes (items that add a level to your combat arts, spell, etc) in order to give a potentially huge bonus to a particular skill when that gear is equipped. And lastly, you can actually insert amulets and rings into a slot to add those abilities to a weapon or armor; the trick there is that a blacksmith can remove one piece of jewelry for you so that it can be used in multiple items over the course of your adventuring career.\n\nThe game is slower paced than some, and tactics really shine and bring alive the combat and danger in the world. Oh, speaking of danger :) let\'s not forget the dragons. Not gonna spoil it because these big boys are a game in and of themselves, at least the first time through them. Ever want to fight a REAL fantasy dragon??? Well, be unprepared and step into the breath of these dragons, you won\'t forget it.\n\nLast but not least, 5 difficulty levels and 206 character levels. And each new difficulty level has surprises of its own so get ready.\n\nWell, I rated the game a 9.2 not a 10 so here are some irritating things for me:\n\nDeath penalty is almost non existing. You lose a little gold and have to run back to where you were with all the monsters respawned at random. Not entirely bad since you can kill everything again and gain good gear and xp.\n\nItem drops. There is sooooo much trash to sell and not enough space to carry it, keeps the gold flowing in though.\n\nThis one is kind of a personal irritation: No real modding capability. For some reason the developers care what people in single player games do. After the game has been played through so many times, It\'s nice to see what other people int he community can come up with.\n\nEither way, this is a great game. A little tough to find nowadays but it\'s doable. If you have Steam you can download Sacred Gold (original game plus th expansion) for only $9.99. That means it is also affordable to tight budgets like mine. Most other online download sites have it for $20.\n\nHappy gaming,\n\nRomedi
