Creatively Assembly on Aliens IP, new studio for console team

Total War nuts Creatively Assembly have been given the keys to the Aliens license by SEGA, and it's looking like a "blockbuster" project says Conservative MP Ed Vaizey.

The UK politician went on to describe the visuals as "out of this world", with the concept "amazing". The new 10k square foot floor is mainly for their console team.

FADE claims Total War: Shogun 2 was Steam's biggest Q1 seller

FADE (Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment) is reporting their estimates on Steam sales during the first quarter of 2011, and is stating that Steam made just under $200M USD in revenue, and Total War: Shogun 2 was the best-selling Steam game during that period.

Shogun 2 DX11 patch in May

Total War: Shogun 2's second patch will add DirectX 11 support, as Creative Assembly stated they expect to release the patch in the first week of May. This makes sense since the recommended system specs state "AMD Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series graphics cards or equivalent DirectX 11 compatible graphics card."

Homefront leads UK chart, Dragon Age II nudged second place

The UK all formats chart is aflame with rebellious citizenry in THQ's Homefront, followed by BioWare's tale of immigrant to champion in Dragon Age II.

Pokemon White was able to fend off Total War: Shogun 2 from entering third, as it came fourth instead. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood back in top 10.
