Codemasters have told Strategy Informer that it will release the first Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising downloadable content for the PC tomorrow, with a patch update planned too. This DLC will also be coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3, but PC users will be the only ones getting it for free. | |

Hugely known Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer has given his full thumbs up to videogames as a legitimate art form, "absolutely".
Movies and theatre have "found their own place" as art, and so has videogaming. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 his first game project. | |

The cancelled singleplayer project 'Shadowrun: The Awakening' from ex-developer FASA has had some footage leak onto the Internet.
This reboot was ditched in favour of the multiplayer-only release in '07. FASA Studios was developing The Awakening for Xbox 360 and PC. | |

Developer Valve has revealed some of the specifics of the Realism mode in Left 4 Dead 2, saying it's not restricted to Expert or Hard difficulty.
It's more about being "challenged as a team," and to just make things harder to kill is "less interesting," says Valve boss Chet Faliszek. | |

So far it would appear the illegal trouble is isolated to the Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 2. Microsoft has stepped up perma-bans. | |

US retailer GameStop accidentally boasted a pre-order treat for Bad Company 2, blabbing about the PS3 beta starting November 19th.
This promotion was pulled but the Internet has it now. EA are coy but pledge "more details later this week," are to be revealed for fans. | |

Yes, developer Valve has gone mad with power. They've promised Bill's L4D hat to Team Fortress 2 players if you pre-order L4D2.

Publisher Activision has been criticized for the high RRP of Modern Warfare 2, but some retailer deals cut its price by over half its tag.
What's more is that supermarkets in the UK are likely to slash the price deep, with ASDA already having done so with FIFA 10. | |

Warren Spector, creator of Deus Ex, reveals he hasn't quite moved on from the sci-fi series and even tried to buy it from Eidos.
They wouldn't part with Deus Ex though, with Spector saying there "were and still are" stories he'd "like to tell." Deus Ex 3 in 2010. | |

An intended humorous trailer for Modern Warfare 2 has backfired a little for developer Infinity Ward, and so they've done their best to wipe it out. It's all about F.A.G.S. you see. That's the "Fight Against Grenade Spam." Bowling admits the end is "a bit too far" from the jokes origin and "appreciates" the raised issues. | |

According to Reuters' news piece, publisher EA will be retailing next year with Dead Space 2 in their line-up. The horror sci-fi is returning with a full sequel to alien slaying, they say.
The project has been revealed before, albeit unofficially, through a developer's LinkedIn profile. Visceral Games has been coy when discussing things past Dead Space: Extraction. | |

These errors appear when gamers don't have Left 4 Dead 2 DLC maps installed, with the code mentioning the 'Miracle Pack' and 'Apocalyptic Pack', and offers to download them. | |

Publisher Activision has come out in defence of the leaked game scene, where players can take part in the massacre of civilians, as part of the "deep and gripping" narrative.
Players face a terrorist threat bringing the world "to the brink of collapse," and that scene was designed to "evoke the atrocities". Gamers are warned of the scene, and offered to skip it. | |

Vavle 's Left 4 Dead 2 is releasing on Xbox 360 and PC, with pre-order demos now live for impatient fans. These same fans have been peeking into the demo uncompressed.
They've discovered hidden away in text files that Left 4 Dead 2 seems to support rewards for Avatars on Xbox 360, and it's revealed how some are awarded. Valve is yet to comment. | |

Developer Splash Damage has confirmed that Brink will have dedicated server support when it releases next spring for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. DICE chips in again too.
The Battlefield developer notes there's "a lot of buzz" right now about dedicated server support, and say it's a formula that's "worked well". DICE will "continue this tradition" for sure. | |

Super spolier alert! A leaked clip of a Modern Warfare 2 level intro has spilled on to the Internet, though it's in very poor quality. Activision has had it drop kicked from YouTube.
The events in the clip show some serious slaughter going on, of a civilian kind, and can involve the player taking part. This is a narrow snapshot of the game, and context is vague. | |

They "all want to produce" the best possible game, and you've got to "keep pace" with others. There's been some "gentle ribbing" at trade shows, and "drunken ideas" exchanged. | |
