Stardock recently released Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion to digital distribution stores around the globe, and is pleased to announce that it has crushed previous records and is now the fastest-selling title in the company's history with over 100,000 units sold since June 2012.

The game is the first major release from Stardock that hasn't been sold at retail, it was only available from digital distribution stores like Steam, GameStop, and directly from Stardock. The developer also revealed that Steam sales of Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion in the first 30 days beat the combined sales of all physical retailers during the same period for the original Sins of a Solar Empire.

The studio has "big plans" for the series but "focus right now" is solely on the expansion Rebellion and their fantasy RTS. Sins of a Solar Empire doesn't really need a campaign.

Studio co-founder Blair Fraser tells us they opted for an art style "very much unused" today; surrealism. They've applied that same philosophy to characters, lore, gameplay etc.
