GSC Game World disputes bitComposer claims on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. license
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series looked, for a moment, secured. Publisher bitComposer Entertainment have announced they acquired the license for video game adaptation, but GSC Game World says otherwise.
While bitComposer is adamant they "hold the license for PC and video games", Eugene Kuchma from GSC claims trademark filings show bitComposer doesn't own rights to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

The post-apocalyptic world lives on as publisher bitComposer Entertainment has acquired the "exclusive worldwide rights" to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. license for all "future video game adaptations".
They're excited to now own the "reputable brand" of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which has sold millions of copies. All other rights for the franchise "remain with the Strugatsky brothers," so no movies.

A rumor claiming that Bethesda has acquired the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. license has resurfaced, as Ukrainian blogger Sergey Galyonkin claims a "very reliable source" told him that the studio had bought the IP.

We've already seen the formation of Vostok Games after the break-up of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer GSC, but it looks like another company is emerging from the stricken studio's ashes.

Newly formed studio Vostok Games's Oleg Yavorsky revealed that the development team behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 attempted to secure the rights to the open world shooter, but were unable to acquire them. The circumstances behind the closure of GSC Game World remain murky,
