So, now that we've embarked upon this great raid, I thought I'd fill you in one what's been going on since the great announcement.

Lots of work has been done with the COP SDK and Level Editor, and the first of many small tweaks and fixes applied to Redux files to fix/improve things from v1.0.

Red Forest and SDK Work

As you might be able to tell from the Work-In-Progress screenshot above (right click + view image for full size), Redux v2.0 will include new levels. The first of which I'm happy to announce, is the Red Forest.

The Red Forest is a player favourite, and taken from Clear Sky and re-worked for use in Redux, the Forest will once again immerse you in pant-wettingly-atmospheric surroundings. Whether you're hunting for artifacts, hunting the local mutant population, scavenging for stashes or doing missions, you'll want to keep your wits about you here.

I've been working on various things in the Level Editor, so far increasing (creating!) the presence that both Duty and Freedom have in Zaton. You may have seen the screenshot I uploaded recently of Duty's recruitment team in the Skadovsk - Freedom has their own representative on the swamp icebreaker in the form of Walrus and his personal guard.

A more 'concrete' faction presence in the area is also in the works, but isn't at a demonstrable point yet.
Tweaks and Fixes

Niggling outstanding (but not game-breaking) bugs and problems with Redux v1.0 are also being worked on and various things improved. Some are very quick to fix, some take a bit more time. Here's a couple of the things I've done recently:

Fixed Snag's 'stolen weapon' mission after purchasing one of Redux's new weapons from Nimble.
Re-instated the feature whereby Stalkers would gift supplies and ammunition to your personal boxes after acquiring certain achievements (though now in Redux-friendly levels).
Re-enabled inter-mutant fighting for more interesting battles.

Little tweaks like this are oft-overlooked, but I consider them to be very important in creating a great Redux experience for v2.0.

I hope you've enjoyed the very first Redux v2.0 Status Update, and stay tuned for more exciting news in the near future!

Until then, keep on stalkin'
