Description:

The aim of this mod is to change the skins for the three main sniper rifles:

- SVDm2 (Dragunov SVD)
- SVUmk2 (Dragunov SVU)
- Vintar BC (VSS Vintorez)

I made this mod because previous textures gave me an excessive plastic feeling and they seemed to me that they were not realistic. Moreover, it's unusual to see shining and chromed sniper rifles...
I decided to modify the skins, wrapping them in mimetic cloth and holding the whole with black rubber bands.
For the SVDm2 (Dragunov SVD) I modified the rifle butt using a more realistic wood texture too.

Installation:

Easy and fast, as ever!
Extract the directory "gamedata" in "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" (or wherever you installed the game). If prompted to overwrite the directory don't worry, the mod will install only a texture file and won't modify anything else.

If it was the first time you install a mod, you have to follow this additonal steps:

- reach the directory in which you installed the game (i.e. "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl") and open the file fsgame.ltx with the notepad.
- edit the second line of the file, changing it from "$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata" to "$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata" (obviously, without quotes!).
- Save the file and close the notepad.

If you like one or two of my three skins and you don't want to overwrite the other ones, that you like more than mine, you only need to copy the DDS files with the new textures that you want to use from "gamedata\textures\wpn" and to paste them in "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\gamedata\textures\wpn" (if you installed the game in another directory, change the path according to it!).

Lo scopo di questo mod č di cambiare le skins dei 3 principali fucili da cecchino:

Ho deciso di fare questo mod perchč le precedenti texture mi davano l'impressione di essere plasticose e molto poco reali e soprattutto non si sono mai visti fucili da cecchino splendenti e cromati...
Ho quindi deciso di modificarne le skin avvolgendoli in panni mimetici e fissando il tutto con elastici neri.
All'SVDm2 (Dragunov SVD) ho anche sostituito il calcio con un piů verosimile legno.

Installazione:

facile e veloce come sempre!
estraete la cartella gamedata e incollatela in C:\Programmi\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl.
Se vi viene chiesto di sovrascrivere non temete, si tratta solo di un file di texture, non verrŕ modificato nulla.

Se č la prima volta che inserite una modifica, allora dovete:

- Andate nella directory di gioco: C:\Programmi\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl trovetere un file .ltx dal nome fsgame; apritelo con un Blocco Note.

- Ora č necessaria questa ulteriore operazione: cambiare la seconda linea del file fsgame.ltx da "$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata" a "$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata". Confermate l'operazione chiudendo il file e salvando la modifica.

Se delle 3 skins vi piacciono solamente 1 o 2 e non volete sovrascrivere altre skins per gli stessi fucili che vi piacciono di piů della mia versione, č sufficiente che copiate il file DDS della textura che volete inserire (da gamedata\textures\wpn) e lo incolliate in C:\Programmi\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\gamedata\textures\wpn.
