Star Citizen crowd funding concludes with a $6.2M total 
Chris Roberts' space combat sim Star Citizen continues to soar with its crowd funding, as the game has finally finished with $6.2M in contributions. The amount zoomed past developer Obsidian's Project Eternity roleplaying game's fundraising efforts of $4.16M.

Amazing, truly. With just 3 hours ticking away on the Kickstarter campaign clock, Star Citizen is just beneath $2 million in pledges. However, when combined with other funds, it has achieved $5.8 million.
That's more than enough to have unlocked the Bengal carrier stretch goal, and to get motion capture for Squadron 42. At $6 million we'll get 100 star systems at launch, full orchestral score and more.

Chris Roberts' return to space combat sims, Star Citizen, has become the biggest backed crowdfunding videogame project in the service's history, passing the $4.5M stretch goal with 26 hours left as of the time of this writing, $1.6M of the funding was via Kickstarter.

Star Citizen is chugging away on the crowd source express that is Kickstarter, as well as their own private pledge drive. Backers have reached the $3.4 million stretch goal unlocking the Goss System.
Every $100k milestone reached adds another star system the team puts in. Cloud Imperium has almost secured the record for the highest crowd sourced title as they encroach on Project Eternity.

Cloud Imperium Games and Chris Roberts are elated as their Kickstarter campaign for Star Citizen has reached $1 million, which is twice what the project asks for. Their next stretch goal is $1.25m.
If reached the team will build "hidden smuggler asteroids." More info about the Idris-class corvette will be coming soon. Combined pledges for Star Citizen are almost at $3 million.
