The Dark Times is a mod based on the premise that Star Wars Battlefront II is a great game with some fun concepts, but will inevitably get stale without relying on the "dynamic" gaming that its online multiplayer offers.
The goal of The Dark Times is to flesh out some aspects of the singleplayer game to create a more one-person focused and "dynamic" singleplayer experience. This revolves around the idea of adding a "random content" factor to stock singleplayer maps to give the illusion of more content.
Dark Times is set in the time period between Episodes III and IV and draws heavily upon "The Force Unleashed" for material. The appearance of the Rebel and Empire factions are, whenever possible, directly inspired by characters or units appearing in "Force Unleashed." This includes hero units, whose appearances and attacks are representative of their showing in that game.
Multiplayer is still of course supported, it even includes a special multiplayer version of the main additional singleplayer mode, "wave mode." And of course traditional modes are included; conquest and hero assault.
