EA and Starbreeze's Syndicate reboot releases in February 2012

Starbreeze Studios' Syndicate has been dated at an EA showcase event in Las Vegas, and it's arriving early next year. The 2nd month of next year to be precise.

2011's basket for FPS is sort of full what with Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Rage all due to blow our socks off. This will "reignite" the Syndicate series.

The Darkness and Chronicles of Riddick's Starbreeze Studios love the first-person shooter, which is why Syndicate's revival "was always going to be an FPS."

The concept was to "zoom into the Agent's head" from the original game, created by Bullfrog Productions. They want to explore the "core essence" of an Agent.

For the past few years, it has been rumored developer Starbreeze would be working on a remake of the classic Syndicate. The original game was released back in 1993 for the Amiga and MS-DOS, in which players would go on a series of missions for a corrupt corporation.

Almost a full year ago, Starbreeze and Electronic Arts ditched a joint project, but did not reveal just what the project was. Speculation was that the game was to be a reboot of the classic game Syndicate. It appears that the canceled Starbreeze game was The Bourne Ascendancy.
